The Vitex or Chastetree is a large deciduous shrub or small tree that can have single or multiple trunks. The tree produces blue-purple flower spikes from May until the first frost. The leaves are a gray-green color, which change in color to yellow in the fall. This tree is very fast growing and is drought tolerant.
